Application Form

Dear Student:

Thank you for your interest in the DIAS summer program. DIAS is the organizer of the program and does not teach any courses. The Summer Courses are offered by the participating Greek universities and are strictly academic.

Below is a list of requirements that must be fulfilled before you can be accepted into the DIAS program. You may download the application at the link provided below. Please complete the application form and your letter of interest and send them back to us immediately to secure your position in the priority list. The rest of the requirements should also be sent to DIAS as soon as possible.

  Requirements:

  1. A Completed and Signed Application Form

You can take up to two courses. Specify which courses you wish to take as your first choice. Please provide alternate courses in case your first selection is cancelled. There is a minimum requirement of 7 students per class in order for it to be held, except if the Academic Committee of the University decides otherwise.
  2. A Letter of Interest
Please write a short letter telling us why you want to participate in the DIAS program.
  3. A Letter of Recommendation
Provide us with a letter of recommendation from your educational advisor or mentor.
  4. An Official Transcript from your Home University
The transcript should be mailed to DIAS International Academic Studies.
  5. A Certificate of credit Pre-Approval from your Home University (Very Important)
Please submit the syllabi of the courses you choose to attend to your college advisor. The advisor will determine which of the courses match with your basic curriculum and pre-approve them. Obtain a letter of pre-approval for both first and second choice. The letter of pre-approval should indicate that your home university will accept the courses you will be taking at the Greek university and that the credits earned at the Greek university will be transferable to your home university upon successful completion of the courses.
  6. A Copy of Your Health Insurance Coverage
  7. A Copy of Your International Student ID card (ISIC)
An ISIC can be obtained from your University or at this Link.
  8. Accident Insurance coverage
Economical accident insurance can be obtained together with the International Student ID card upon request.
  9. A recent photograph
  10. A Check or Money Order (Program cost $3,800)
This will cover tuition, lodging, two meals a day and educational excursions (except Santorini, which is optional). Travel to and from Greece is not included. Please inquire for further information about the cost.

Please note that the entire participation fee goes towards the expenses of the program. The actual cost of the program per student is significantly higher than your fee, but thanks to our sponsors we are able to keep the costs at a minimum. The DIAS organizers are volunteers who pay their own expenses. DIAS’ aim is to make the program cost free for the students, if possible in the future.

DIAS will not be in a position to know if a University will conclusively offer the classes, which are advertised until June 15th (deadline for applications). Depending on the number of students who apply for a particular class or for the entire University (a minimum of 7 students per class) that class or the entire program of a University might be cancelled. DIAS and the host University bear no responsibility for these consequences. For this reason we recommend that each student chooses an alternative set of classes in the same or other University.

We look forward to receiving your application and seeing you at the summer program. If you have any questions about the application process or the entire summer program do no hesitate to contact us. Please read the instructions carefully.
